|The Ferris State 2008 Summer Soccer Academy will be directed by Bulldog women's soccer head coach Neathan Gibson.|
The Ferris State University women's soccer program will be holding its 2008 Summer Soccer Academy from July 21-24 on the FSU campus in Big Rapids, Mich.
Boys and girls from all ages between 4-18 years will benefit by attending these sessions which will be under the direction of current Bulldog women's soccer head coach and former professional player Neathan Gibson.
All sessions will be held on the West Intramural fields next to the FSU Softball Field on the Ferris State campus.
"We are looking forward to the opportunity of working with the community youth to promote learning through a fun and challenging environment," said Gibson. "The summer soccer academy is aimed at building each player's overall level of technical, tactical, physical and psychological ability."
FSU "BULLDOG" Skills (Boys & Girls 4-18) -- July 21-24
In this fun-filled environment, players will learn how to get as many touches on the ball as possible. This camp is designed with emphasis on technical skill development along with small-sided games to incorporate the skills learned.
FSU Player Academy (Boys & Girls 4-18) -- July 21-24
This program is put together to help improve a players' field understanding and awareness through various field sessions. Players will continue to learn the skills needed in every aspect of the game. The option will provide players with a great balance between Technical training and Functional training on the field.
Individual and Goalkeeper Camp (Boys & Girls 4-18) -- July 21-24
For both young and experience goalkeepers, individuals will be placed in skill level groups with a demanding training structure. Goalkeepers will be challenged to overcome self-imposed limits and to reach higher personal limits. Players attending this camp will go away with valuable knowledge and tools to continuously improve!
Team or Group Discount
A team or group will receive a discount of $50 per player. There must be at least 10 players in the group and all applications per group must be received at the same time. **Note** - The group/team may consist of any number/combination of field players and goalkeepers.
