Ferris State concludes the regular season with an 8-8-1 overall mark, which includes a 7-6-1 conference ledger. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs will host a first-round GLIAC Tournament match Tuesday (Nov. 4) at the FSU Soccer Field in Big Rapids, Mich.
Following a scoreless first half, Grand Valley State was able to get on the board as Joyce Rose headed the ball into the FSU net past Houdek just 34 seconds into the second half.
The Lakers would score again at the 64:20 mark as Jaleen Dingledine took control of a through ball from midfield and broke into the Bulldog zone alone. Dingledine then scored with a shot to the left post to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage. GVSU would wrap up the scoring in the regular-season contest in late in the 72nd minute as Ashley Elsass put her shot into the right side of the Ferris goal from close range to make it 3-0. Katy Tafler chalked up her second straight assist of the match on the goal.

Grand Valley State outshot the Bulldogs 30-to-4 and also had eight corner kicks to FSU's two for the contest. Senior forward Tammy Unsworth (White Lake/Walled Lake Northern) led the Bulldogs with a pair of shots on goal.
The shutout marked the Lakers 16th of this season with GVSU goalkeeper Kristina Nasturzio making four saves in picking up the win.
Houdek's 20 saves were two shy of tying the school record of 22 stops held by Alana Dombrowski against Madonna (Mich.) in the 2002 season (10/18).
