The Ferris State University Athletics Department has designated four home basketball dates as "Fan Appreciation" games during the holiday season and free admission will be offered for those contests.
No tickets will be sold for the four selected non-league home outings although all donations of canned goods to help the needy will be welcomed at the door. The four games comprise the remaining non-conference men's and women's basketball home games this season at Jim Wink Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.
The first of the four selected games will be this Tuesday's (Nov. 25) men's basketball home contest against Olivet, which begins at 7:30 p.m. (EST) inside Wink Arena.
The remaining games will be the women's basketball contest versus Marygrove (Dec. 29 - 6 p.m.) along with two men's basketball home outings to start the new year - Jan. 3 vs. Grace Bible (3 p.m.) and Jan. 5 against Kuyper (7:30 p.m.).
All Bulldog fans are invited to come out and watch the Bulldogs free of charge as part of the "Fan Appreciation" offer.
In addition to the free remaining non-conference home matchups, the Bulldogs will also play 11 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheaders at Wink Arena during the 2008-09 season. The first league home twin bill will be against Hillsdale on Saturday, Dec. 13, with the women's game set to start at 1 p.m. (EST).
Tickets for all league doubleheaders will be sold at the door starting one hour prior to game time with general admission prices set for $7 (adults) or $5 (FSU faculty-staff and students K-12). All Ferris students are admitted free to all games with their student identification card.
