|Boys and Girls Ages 5-11 can experience the fun of organized hockey on Saturday, April 14 at the Ewigleben Ice Arena.
A free "Hockey is Fun" Clinic will be held Saturday, April 14, at the Ewigleben Ice Arena on the Ferris State University campus in Big Rapids, Mich., as part of the Hockey Day in Michigan, the official statewide celebration of the sport.
The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) along with FSN Detroit and the Detroit Red Wings have teamed up to sponsor the hockey clinic, which will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. (EDT). The clinic is open free of charge to boys and girls ages 5-11.
"We are really excited to be able to offer more boys and girls an opportunity to experience the fun of hockey for the first time for free in these "Hockey is Fun" clinics, " said CCHA Commissioner Tom Anastos. "The smiles we saw last year at Joe Louis Arena are one of the best things I've experienced in hockey. I hope more kids are able to enjoy that same feeling this year."
Participants will be selected at random and the clinic is limited to 60 participants. Registration doesn't guarantee selection. All equipment including skates and a stick will be provided to participants for use during the clinic.
To sign up, please complete the attached form and submit your reasons for learning how to play hockey. All forms must be returned before April 6, 2007 and those individuals selected to participate will be contacted the week of April 9.
Completed forms may be faxed to (248) 888-0664 or e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Forms may also be returned to the Ferris State University Athletics Ticket Office during regular business hours.
